making every tuesday count
Empowering CNY Non-Profits
Every Non-Profit has a Story
Every non-profit has a story. A story of giving, a story of receiving, a story of challenges and overcoming, a story of impact and making a difference.
CNY Tuesdays is a weekly campaign recognizing these stories. It is a vehicle to give a voice to the amazing non-profits making a difference in Central New York communities and for CNY citizens through a partnership with NBC3 News. In addition, Adam Weitsman, owner of Upstate Shredding, and his daughter Clover, are empowering the featured organizations to transform their communities even further through weekly $2,000 grants.
CNY Tuesdays is intended to be a grant program driven by the community voice. Do your part and Nominate or Vote today.

Why Tuesdays?
Giving Tuesday is a nationally recognized day of giving, that started as a grass roots campaign eight years ago at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season. A time when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since 2012, people from all over the world have given nearly $2 Billion to causes on Giving Tuesday.
Giving Tuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources. In fact, the hashtag #52Tuesdays is a big focus for the organization in recent years, reminding communities to make every Tuesday count to truly make a difference.
